About Calavista

The Company

Calavista provides software development support for companies ranging from startups to the Fortune 100. We started in 2001 as a contract software house, a group of developers using our proprietary tools and processes to write better software for our customers. Over the years we have grown, adding testing support, licensing our tools to our customers, and providing training on software development methodologies. Calavista has leveraged our experience with remote software development to provide a blended development model, where our customers can work directly with very senior development managers and architects, who are backed by cost-effective remote teams.

Using this model, Calavista can take on a specific projects for large enterprise companies, or acts as the entire engineering organization for a smaller organizations, with equal ease. Either way, we provide our clients with experienced teams of developers, testers, and IT support, using our tools and methods, and run by top-tier Development Managers who have spent years managing distributed development groups.

This approach: blending experienced management, economical resources, and proprietary tools and processes together into one package, results in an extremely affordable development solution – but one with a success rate of nearly 3x the industry average.

Management Team

Lawrence Waugh, COO, received two BS degrees from MIT and his MS degree in Computer Science from Stanford University before beginning his career in software development and development management. He gained his industry experience working for several major enterprise software providers, working in both Development and Professional Services organizations. Prior to cofounding Calavista, Lawrence served as VP of Engineering for Aviri, Director of Technical Integration and Director of Professional Services for Agillion, Director of Content for pcOrder, and Senior Technical Manager for Trilogy Software.

Sandeep Gupta, CTO, holds an MS degree in Computer Science from MIT, and 3 BS degrees from Rice University. Prior to cofounding Calavista, Sandeep was the Development Manager for Aviri Software and a Senior Consulting Manager at Trilogy Software. He brings to Calavista 15 years of academic and industry experience in software development and process management.
